M ark Trump is a graduate of the
University of British Columbia
Medical School who completed his residency training at the
University of Alberta. After completing his Orthopedic FRCSC
examinations he came to the Melbourne Orthopedic Group to further
his sub-specialty interests in shoulder and elbow surgery. Upon
completion he will continue his training in shoulder and knee
surgery in Perth. While he hopes to focus on these areas in his
elective practice, he also has a keen interest in trauma.
His previous research interests were in biochemical physiology,
earning him an MSc from the University of British Columbia. During
his time at MOG he will be completing a retrospective analysis of
the predictive factors for post-operative adhesive capsulitis.
The MOG fellowship also provided him the opportunity to pursue his
interest in volunteer medicine. He joined Orthopedic Outreach
sponsored volunteer journey to Sri Lanka which focused on educating
and assisting local surgeons in Galle.
In August 2009 he will return to North America to pursue his career
in orthopedics.
